What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation. It is a technique where pigment is implanted into the skin to enhance facial features such as eyebrows, lips, and eyeliner. PMU is a popular beauty service in Scottsdale, AZ for clients looking to save time in their daily routines, correct asymmetry, and boost confidence with long-lasting results.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years, depending on the individual’s skin type and lifestyle. Touch ups are required to ensure longevity of your procedure.
Does it hurt to get a permanent makeup procedure?
Many people wonder if permanent makeup is painful—and the good news is, it’s much more comfortable than you might expect! We use topical and secondary numbing creams/gels as well as soothing techniques throughout the procedure to minimize any discomfort.
Most clients describe the sensation as a gentle scratching or light buzzing rather than pain. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but our priority is making sure you feel calm and relaxed from start to finish.
Remember, the amazing, long-lasting results you’ll enjoy are totally worth a little temporary sensitivity—and here at Scottsdale permanent makeup- we’re here to support you every step of the way!
What are the most popular PMU services in Scottsdale, AZ?
Top services include Lip Blush, Ombre Brow, Nano Brow, and Combo Brow procedures due to their low maintenance and long-lasting beauty.
What is the healing process like after getting PMU?
After your permanent makeup procedure, your skin will begin a natural healing process that typically takes about 7 to 14 days. During this time, it’s normal to experience:
- Mild redness or swelling immediately after treatment
- Light scabbing/peeling as the skin repairs
- Slight color fading before the true pigment settles
Your final results will become fully visible after about 4-6 weeks, once your skin has completely healed and the pigment has settled beautifully. At this time you would receive your touch-up appointment to ensure beautiful results + longevity.
Can I get a lip blushing done if I have lip filler?
Absolutely! In fact- lip blush pairs BEAUTIFULLY with properly placed filler. However, please note that you must wait 4 weeks after getting filler to get your lip blushing procedure.
I had my brows done by another artist, can you correct or touch them up?
A consultation will be required to determine if you’re a candidate for a cover-up. Factors such as the amount of remaining pigment, the depth at which it was implanted by the previous artist, and your overall skin tone and condition all play a role. Please complete the consultation form for prior approval.
If I believe a cover-up is not your best option, I’ll recommend we do a few sessions of Botched Ink® saline removal. Although this route requires some patience — your long-term results will be much better, and you deserve to have brows you truly love.
Who is a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Most healthy adults are great candidates for semi-permanent makeup procedures! However, some medical conditions, medications, or certain skin types may require special care or adjustments.
That’s why we offer complimentary consultations to all of our PMU clients. During your consultation, we’ll answer any questions you have, provide expert advice tailored to your unique needs, and ensure you feel completely comfortable and confident before your procedure. Your safety, satisfaction, and peace of mind are our top priorities!
